Lives - Created Over Years - Changed In Minutes
I hesitated to publish this over the last few weeks. Too much crap hitting the news fans. Too much destruction.
But now I’m feeling it’s alright to do so.
This is the aftermath of a fire on Fabric Row in South Philly on April 6th, 2013. A firefighter lost their life doing their duty .. making sure that everyone else was safe and out of harms way. There were no other casualties or injuries.
I went by the site a week ago and took a series of shots. The power of fire never ceases to amaze and horrify me. A decade ago in Chicago I almost lost everything I had to a fire from a neighbor’s apartment. Ten more minutes, the fire crew said ….
I think it’s important to remember that this can happen any time and be vigilant. Especially in a city of row houses.
